Introducing New THREADS Contributor Amelia Waters

Amelia Waters has almost 15 years of experience in journalism, marketing and public

relations. She began her career at KRCG-TV in Columbia, Missouri as a reporter, producer and fill-in anchor. She then progressed to Albany, New York to work for WXXA FOX23 News as a producer and web manager. She helped the station cover multiple major events including Hurricane Irene, New York State's passing of gay marriage, the 2010 midterm elections and the 2011 New York governor's race.

After her television career she went into internet marketing when she was ranked a lead link builder and SEO in helping major companies gain traffic to their web sites. She later worked as a membership recruiter for the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York where she executed the planning, implementation and administration of the organization's strategy to help recruit girls and volunteers in one of the highest populated areas of the Capital Region: Albany County.


She currently is the founder and CEO of her own business Double Paws Digital, where she helps companies gain online traction with social media, content creation and web maintenance. She also currently works as the store manager and marketing and public relations director for Madame Pirie Famise Corset Shoppe in Albany, NY. She recently ran a successful marketing campaign for Madame Pirie as the store celebrated 75 years in business.


Amelia has been modeling for nearly 20 years. She has done several fashion shows in Albany and the New York City area. She has an versatile background in promotional, fashion, fitness and lifestyle modeling. She has worked as an extra in several movies and TV series; most recently HBO's Succession, when they filmed in Albany. She is currently signed with Tamara Models and Talent in Syracuse, New York.


Amelia has been a professional trainer for almost five years. Her career began at the Capital District YMCA where she devised and developed comprehensive health classes, presentations and private sessions. She has been the lead coach for the LIVESTRONG Program, a 12-week course that helps cancer survivors, and been a trainer for the BetterU Program that helps women who are dealing with heart disease and obesity. She currently is training clients virtually from home and is studying to get her nutritionist certification.
